HR Apprentice at Simmons Gainsford LLP in Marylebone

Job Description

Due to our current HR Administrator being promoted, we are now seeking her successor. You will be part of a small team, working in a fast-paced office within walking distance of Oxford Circus/Bond Street tube. If you are genuinely interested in a career in HR, used to working in a tidy and organised manner whilst juggling priorities on a daily basis, we would love to hear from you!

Core Responsibilities


  • Tailor JDs in line with our competency framework
  • Arrange interviews, obtain RTW documentation, set up assessments
  • Keep job boards/careers page updated

Starters & Leavers

  • Ensure relevant Induction & Training programme issued
  • Proactively manage probation process
  • Record and report on exit data


  • Act as first point of contact

Performance management

  • Manage timely roll out & receipt of all performance appraisals

Absence management

  • Maintain sickness records


  • Arrange CPD training


  • Administer the Apprenticeship portal & induction
  • Diarise reviews


  • Generate reports
  • Keep updated HR spreadsheets and filing
  • Note-taker in meetings
  • Undertake research and ad hoc projects

  • Excellent communicator – written and verbal
  • MS Office Suite – good working knowledge
  • Proven administrative experience in an office environment
  • Enthusiastic with a ‘can do attitude
  • Experience of independently managing own workload
  • An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and handling sensitive information


  • Previous experience in a recruitment environment
  • Experience in professional services
